Hello! I’m meteorologist Cohen “Coco” Parent, the creator of Coco’s Weather.
Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to become a meteorologist. After graduating with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences, I realized I wanted to keep weather close to me in a way that felt personal, useful, and true to my passion. That idea eventually became Coco’s Weather.
I am a Louisiana native and currently a graduate student in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a concentration in Coastal Engineering. My thesis research focuses on forecasting Mississippi River fog, an important challenge for vessel operations and safety. I am also a former NASA intern at Langley and Goddard, where I had the opportunity to present my research to NASA Headquarters.
Weather has always been more than a career path for me. My dream was once to become an Air Force hurricane hunter, and although life led me in a different direction, my fascination with hurricanes, storms, and forecasting has never gone away. I love tracking storms, studying the atmosphere, and most importantly, helping people stay informed and safe.
Before fully pursuing my love of weather, I was a collegiate athlete in both baseball at ULM and football at ULL. Outside of weather, I enjoy playing golf, watching football, and playing cards.
The inspiration behind this website is simple: why not create a place where people can get trustworthy, concise, and easy-to-understand weather information? My goal is to continue improving Coco’s Weather and provide reliable updates you can count on.
Thank you for trusting Coco’s Weather.
